What to do after a pipe breaks?

SERVPRO of Englewood/East Littleton can help you when a pipe bursts.  Here are some easy steps to follow when you experience this issue.

1. Turn off the water to the building - some people may have to be without water for a time but it is better than the alternative
2. Call mitigation company - the goal of mitigation is to remove the water and start the drying process to lessen the damage and prevent mold growth.
3. Call a plumber - have the broken pipe fixed right away to allow water to employees or clients.
4. Call the insurance company - commercial insurance want to know that action is being taken to lessen the cost. “What is being done to fix the problem?” is going to be their first question.
Let us be your first call after a broken pipe in your building.
